To kick off National Ice Cream Month, Blue Bell has announced the winner of "The Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament".
The tournament which started on Tuesday, June 25 gave Blue Bell ice cream lovers the chance to submit their choices online to bring back one of its discontinued flavors.
By using the March Madness-style brackets the ice cream company made 16 flavors compete in head-to-head matchups.
Lauren Lewis, Blue Bell's public relations manager, told USA TODAY that the 16 flavors were chosen based on customer requests. She also added that the winner of the tournament would return to store shelves in 2025.
The bracket was updated every day until the voting concluded on Friday, June 28. The winner was revealed on Monday, July 1.

Groom’s Cake won the Blue Bell Tournament
The winner of the Blue Bell tournament proved that their customers prefer chocolate.
The Groom's Cake took home the trophy for The Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament.
This flavor gives an "I do" feel which features a mixture of chocolate ice cream and cake with chocolate covered strawberry hearts, swirls of strawberry sauce and chocolate ice cream.
Which flavors competed in the tournament?
Starting the games off with eight groups of two, the flavors faced off in a head-to-head game that ended with two cake flavors.
Here are the flavors that faced off against each other when the game started:
Strawberry Cheesecake vs. Blueberry Cheesecake
Groom’s Cake vs. Red Velvet Cake
Hot Fudge Brownie vs. Raspberry Fudge Brownie
Cherry Amaretto Cordial vs. Gingerbread House
Mocha Madness vs. Tiramisu
Creole Cream Cheese vs. Key Lime Pie
Cookie Cake vs. Lemon Bliss
Triple Caramel vs. Triple Chocolate

USA TODAY reached out to Blue Bell to find out when The Groom's Cake flavor will officially return to store shelves in 2025 but have not yet heard back.
Blue Bell fans weigh in on Groom's Cake win on social media
Some people that have been following the competition from the beginning are happy that Groom's Cake won.
"Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so excited," Kimberly Burgo wrote in a comment. "I have been hoping Groom’s Cake would come back for years. "
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!" Christina Evans wrote. "You don’t know how happy this makes me and my Blue Bell Ice Cream loving daughter! "
However, some fans didn't want to believe the results.
"You’re kidding???" Mack Simms wrote. "These were tallies on Cookie Cake as of 11:37PM CT, seven hours AFTER you extended the time (in which Cookie Cake would have won fair & square). Something feels fishy here."
"That can’t be true," Matt Copeland wrote. "Cookie cake was winning by a long shot."
Blue Bell responded and explained how the results were accounted for.
"The total votes are a combination of all social media accounts and the voting on our website," the comment read. "Ultimately Groom's Cake was the winner. There is always a chance Cookie Cake could return one day!"
